A Moment To Remember - Saturday Blast

Last night, I watched three Asian Movies from my own beloved country Philippines, Thailand and the other one from Korea. Three movies about keeping your love for someone despite the challenges you may go through.

One More Chance.

I watched this movie with my super Kulit Yabs plus my super gaduper pretty Ate MYA. We have all this kulitan pa saying the lines all over again and making faces. So here's the story.....

Their love story began when they first met as students at the University of Santo Tomas: Popoy (John Lloyd Cruz) was majoring in Engineering while Basha (Bea Alonzo) was a freshman in Architecture. They were inseparable and did everything together — eating, studying and attending parties. Both their families loved them, they shared mutual friends and eventually ended up working for the same firm. Every single component of their lives revolved around each other. So, naturally, everyone assumed that they would inevitably get married someday, with Architect Basha designing and planning their dream house while Engineer Popoy building it. Everything could not be more perfect.
At least, that was what Popoy thought. What he did not know was that Basha was not as sure about their future as Popoy seemed to be.
All Popoy's nagging and excessive planning took a toll on Basha. Not only was she tired of trying to carve out her own mark in the hierarchy of the firm, but she also grew weary of Popoy always stepping in to fix things for her. One day, Basha told Popoy that she wanted to resign and move to a smaller firm where she could be given better opportunities to design independently, completely blindsiding her bewildered beau. She revealed the issue that had been brewing inside her for the past year: the real reason why she wanted to leave the company was that she was tired of Popoy and their relationship. She felt hindered by Popoy's constant attention and thought that she had never been given the chance to decide and plan for herself because he always did everything. Popoy was speechless and devastated. That same night, Basha broke up with him, reasoning that she needed the space to grow on her own.
Not knowing how to pick himself up after the love of his life left him, Popoy struggled to live his new life alone. Meanwhile, Basha followed through with her plans to resign from the firm. For a while, she drifted jobless, customizing T-shirts with unusual patterns and designs, until she was offered to work for a smaller firm. Accepting the offer, she began to feel the professional freedom she had been longing for. Popoy and Basha tried to live without each other but the ties that bound them made it difficult for either of them to completely move on, especially when their families and friends were constant reminders of the promises and dreams they had made during their happier days.
Slowly, Popoy moved on and discovered that there was life after Basha; on the other hand, Basha began to find her solitary journey to be harder than she had imagined, especially when Popoy began dating another girl. Although a part of her wanted to get him back, she reminded herself that the decision to terminate the relationship was hers alone.
Opportunity knocked on their door when Popoy's aunt commissioned them to build her house together. After initially feeling awkward, Popoy and Basha eventually warmed up towards each other, especially after memories of the five years they spent together resurfaced. Slowly and unconsciously, they fell into their old routines and found themselves enjoying each other's company once again. Both realized how much they had missed each other, at the same time acknowledging how much they each had changed.
But Popoy knew that giving in would mean that they would go back to how they were before, that she will just go on her way again and ignore him when she grew tired again of their relationship and he will be left alone again and hurt. - Wikipedia
If you haven't seen this movie oh goodness, you'll miss a part of your life hehe..

The ATM - A Thai movie

This movie really made me laughing and giggling, despite there is no english sub on it and I think it was really crazy understanding the Thai language I find it really cute.

Sua (Ter – Chantavit Dhnasevi) and Jib (Ice — Preechaya Pongthananikorn) are like any other couple in this world except for one exception: for the past 5 years they have kept their relationship a secret since the bank where they are employed has a strict “No Fraternization” policy.

It’s not a big deal until they decide to get married. The only problem? Which one of these two Type-A overachievers will put marriage before a career and resign? With neither willing to take the leap of faith they both turn incident into opportunity when an ATM glitch in Chonburi province cashes out over $130,000 baht. The terms are simple: whoever is able to recover the money first gets to keep their job. The couple will turn into no holds barred competitors. Who will literally “go big” in their career or “go home” in this romantic comedy about what two people won’t do for each other in the name of love? It’s the age old battle of the sexes but this time around how can victory be easily declared in a war where there are no more traditional “rules of engagement. - Google

A Moment to Remember

The first segment of the film introduces the protagonists, a woman named Su Jin and a man named Chul Soo. The movie highlights their accidental meeting, followed by their subsequent courting despite the social standings that should have kept them apart. Kim Su-Jin is a 27-year-old fashion designer, spurned by her lover, a colleague who was also a married man. Depressed, she goes to a convenience store, where she bumps into a tall, handsome man with whom she has a slight misunderstanding. Following that, she returns home and, receiving her father's forgiveness, decides to start life afresh.
One day while accompanying her father, who is the head of a construction site, she coincidentally meets the man whom she earlier bumped into at the convenience store. He is Choi Chul-Soo, the construction site's foreman who is aiming to become an architect. Chul-Soo may appear like a rough and dirty construction worker initially, but exudes sheer masculinity in its most basic physical form. Su-Jin instantly takes a liking to Chul-Soo and in what is a refreshing change, actively courts him. There are many sweet events that take place in the occurrence of their courtship, eventually leading to their marriage.
The second segment follows the couple settling into married life. Su-Jin learns to be a housewife as her husband cares for her. As the segment progresses however, Su-jin begins to display forgetfulness, including an incident in which a fire breaks out because of a forgotten stove. While Chul Soo caught the fire in time, the seriousness of the incident and others like it draw them to seek medical help.
The third segment involves the revelation of Alzheimer's disease and the couple's consequent response to it. Su Jin is heavily burdened by the knowledge that she will forget her husband and hides it from him until he seeks advice from the doctor himself. Despite the disease, they make the commitment to stay together and as the disease progresses, the trials the couple go through increase because of Su Jin's consistent loss of memory. - Wikipedia

The fourth segment reveals Su-jin in the final stages of the disease and the grief Chul Soo experiences because of it. Yet he remains beside her, despite her lost memory, hiding his eyes behind sunglasses when he visits her so she can't see his tears. The end of the movie finishes off with Chul Soo replaying the first time they met in the convenience store with all her friends and family there. In the final scene, Su-jin is riding beside her husband in the car in the sunset, and he can finally tell her, "I love you."

Love is truly magical, sabi nga ni MYA dapat ang dalawang tao ay sumayaw ng sabay sa saliw ng iisang musika, na merong pagkakaintindihan at pagtitiwala sa bawat isa.

Enjoy watching the movie.

Love is a choice and choosing him will always be my greatest happiness:) ..
